Urbane Capital Management is a South Florida-based real estate investment and development firm that focuses on infill properties for value-add repositioning, adaptive re-use and ground-up development, as well as distressed asset transactions. Our firm is focused on fast growing markets in Florida and the Southeast with strong demographic tailwinds. Additionally, it is also focused on value-add opportunities in the New York City market. Urbane’s principals have collectively more than 60 years of experience in executing complex real estate opportunities through multiple real estate cycles.

Urbane Capital Management was founded in 2021 by Amin Jamal and Nitin Jain. Urbane was founded with the vision of bringing together a collaborative team of experienced real estate professionals dedicated to the execution of the Firm’s real estate investment strategy.

Prior to Urbane, Amin is a 20-year veteran in the real estate industry and has developed over 2 million square feet of real estate as a principal in various emerging markets including the United Arab Emirates, India, and Brazil.

Before Urbane, Nitin was a partner at Orion Real Estate, Atlanta. Nitin has more than 20 years of experience in both public as well as private real estate investments. Nitin is a trained Architect and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Geographic Focus

Urbane’s core focus on development and value-add opportunities are in the South Florida (Miami–Fort Lauderdale–West Palm Beach) and Orlando markets. The firm has a secondary focus on the Southeast growth markets of Charlotte, Atlanta and Research Triangle Park. These markets are exhibiting strong growth due to demographic shifts that are expected to persist over multiple real estate cycles.

Urbane is also has an opportunistic focus on New York City which happens to be the premier gateway city of the US and the #1 City in the World. We are focused on capitalizing on current dislocation in the market to acquire value-add assets.

Amin Jamal

Co-Founder & Managing Principal

Amin is responsible for overall investment strategy as well sourcing and underwriting. Previously, Amin was a Principal at ASJ/Superstone Group, a global real estate investment and management group focused on residential and hospitality assets in the United States, India, and Southeast Asia. Prior to that, Amin was Senior Vice President of Trident Holdings, a luxury real estate developer in Dubai, UAE where he was involved in the development and promotion of over 2 million square feet of residential space. He holds a Bachelors from Columbia University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.



Nitin Jain

Co-Founder & Principal

Nitin leads Urbane’s development and redevelopment vision/positioning as well as execution. Nitin is also responsible for Urbane’s debt and equity market and Investor Relation efforts. Before Urbane, Nitin was a partner at Orion Real Estate, Atlanta. Nitin has more than 20 years of experience in both public as well as private real estate investments. He has extensive institutional equity and capital markets experience from his stints at Nomura Securities and as a REIT Equity Analyst at Fidelity Investments, Boston. Nitin is a trained Architect and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.



John Morris

Principal

John leads the Multifamily Division at Urbane. He is responsible for underwriting, asset management as well as sourcing new investors for Urbane’ expansion in the multifamily sector. Before joining Urbane, John worked as a CRE consultant providing underwriting services for REITS, debt funds and high net worth families. Previously, John held positions as a financial analyst and an appraiser for firms providing services to the commercial real estate industry. These firms include Transwestern, BDO USA, K4 Real Estate Group, Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group. John holds a Bachelors from Boston College and Masters in Real Estate from New York University.


